UPDATED MORE MOTHER 3 CONSPIRACIES FROM MARVELOUS

Yesterday there were some rumours of Mother 3 (or Earthbound) through developer Brownie Brown. Today, Marvelous announced a new project for the DS...

On Marvelous' website, the developer has opened up a minisite showing a teaser for their latest Nintendo DS project. If we look at the teaser, it shows us a countdown (probably until revealing the full game) and a professor. In the meantime, someone from the Gaming Age forums has decompiled the flash-movie to search for clues.

The decompiling came up with two clues. The mention of a 'rock' and a small animation in which the doctor is supposed to turn around.

Now if we look close, fans of the Mother-series might see some close resemblance with Dr. Andonuts from that series.

The second clue found by the decompiler, the mention of the 'rock', fits into the Mother-conspiracy theory as well. The original Mother-series contained multiple talking (you guessed it)... rocks.

As far as we know, Marvelous has never participated in any of the previous Mother games. And although it may seem farfetched, fact is Marvelous is working on yet another game for the Nintendo DS.

Update: The new game from Marvelous wasn't Mother 3, it was the yesterday announced Contact from Grasshopper.

I hope it will came in Europe, along with Mother 1+2 (and without a translation of the name, please).
Here in Europe we are ever considered the tail of the donkey (sorry for the italianism).
I hope this is true!
Offtopic, but still... I've been working on a new design for DS-x2, and although it's far from finished, I kind of like the looks of it myself. We're going darker, yet not unfamiliar...

The new design is very nice. Should be double the fun. Anyway, I never really got the hang of Earthbound.
