Capcom has announced through Famitsu that Resident Evil, one of their most successful titles ever, will be ported over to the Nintendo Wii.

It seems that Resident Evil 0 won't be the only Resident Evil port to the Nintendo Wii as it is now going to be joined by a port of Resident Evil 1.

Although not much detail is known it is a port of the gamecube version, supports the Gamecube controller and unlike Resident Evil 0 port this port will make use of some waggle motion.

The game has been confirmed for a release on Christmas day in Japan, December 25th, 2008, but no word on an international release.
