Two Skateboarding Reviews

Our reporter James did it again: while shooting questions at various people, he got the chance to ask Apogee Software six questions on the upcoming Duke Nukem Trilogy.

DS-x2.com: When the Duke Nukem Trilogy was announced for the Nintendo DS, and PSP, confusion was raised as to the fact if this title was a port of the first three Duke Nukem titles or remakes, could you please clear things up?

Apogee: Apogee has always stated from the initial announcement that the Trilogy was going to be based on an all new storyline, and is not a port from any other Duke game. I think that it is also important to note that Apogee lead the way in announcing a Trilogy of games when all other publishers play it safe and only announce single titles. However, I recently noticed another company announcing a Trilogy following our lead.

DS-x2.com: With the Trilogy heading to the Nintendo DS, and PSP, is there a particular reason those two handhelds were chosen over the consoles like the Nintendo Wii and PS3?

Apogee: With a combined total of over 100 million units worldwide for the DS and PSP, the choice was clear.

DS-x2.com: Duke Nukem is known to have caused some controversy in the past with its in game material, most notably Duke Nukem 3D, will the Duke Nukem Trilogy contain any of this material or will we be seeing a clean title?

Apogee: At this point I will only say that the Trilogy will live up to the legacy of the Duke Nukem Franchise.

DS-x2.com: The game is said to contain upto 5 different gameplay style actions, why has Apogee Software actually chosen to implement 5 and wouldn't some gamers be confused with the numbers of way the game is played?

Apogee:We are simply taking the most popular styles of gaming and bringing them into one game. It is important to also point out that the player will not have the option to play the entire game in just one mode. There is a based game play mode, intermixed with the other game play modes. Other games do this but only incorporate 2 different gaming styles, and yet other games have mini-games that have different gaming styles. Players don't get confused by them.

DS-x2.com: With Multiplayer being included could you explain how this works?

Apogee: There will be multiplayer options on both systems. We will have greater details on this once our marketing campaign starts.

DS-x2.com: The Duke Nukem series is also known for containing many different types of characters, will the trilogy introduce any new allies or enemies or will we see just familar faces within the game?

Apogee: The story brings back a whole host of past characters, including the very first enemy, but the story also allows for new characters to be introduced throughout the entire Trilogy.

DS-x2.com would like to thank Apogee Software for answering our questions and wishes the company well on their release of Duke Nukem Trilogy and all future products.

Good that it isn't a remake but will still contain past characters and will apparently live up to standards made by the previous Duke Nukem titles.

Oh right, this has cleared up a lot. I just assumed that it was a cheap port. If this is anything like playing a totally new Duke Nukem 3D then I'm very interested.
