Well as you can see the holidays are now over in Japan and sales are returning to normal. Nintendo DS shortages continue and retailers are starting to jack-up the price of the system for the few they recieve on the shelves each week. Right now the DS is selling for about the same price as the PSP in Japan and people seem to still be buying the handheld at this insane price. Hopefully Nintendo will increase the shipment soon enough so the price will go back down and sales should go back to normal.

well this time around, the difference is way smaller. I think this is PSP's last week in first place.

And looking at software, DS continues to dominate.

I wonder what compelled those 119 people to buy Xboxes...

Most likely Americans living in Japan.
its coming back to normality for every console now.. but lets wait until the DS stock is replenished, then we see a domination :)

still...this isn't a good trend, Nintendo has to stop these DS shortages.
Jacking up the Nintendo DS price is legal in Japan?

Why would it be illegal anywhere? An MSRP is the Manufacturer's SUGGESTED Retail Price. It's like when you go to a store and pay twice or three times as much for something as you do online.
