The Zooligans have come! It?s time for the Cosmos Keepers to send out their leader: Blender (that?s you).
First something about our main character (Blender, if you?d already forgotten). Blender can be imagined as some overgrown rabid. With his superlong ears, he can detect Mini Bros (more about these below), fight, glide and jump higher (using his ears as a pogo stick...). But that?s not enough to defeat the evil Zooligans. This is where the Mini Bros. come to the rescue.
The Mini Bros. are a Pokémon-like species. Each of these critters has his (or hers) own special powers, like water-walking abilities or to leech life on enemies. Just like in every other game using pkmn-like creatures, they can evolve. In Blender Bros. they evolve when listening to specific music. Once evolved, there?s no way back, and you?ll either have to find the original critter once again, or find a friend to trade Mini-Bros with.
Enough about the background of the game. What kind of game is Blender Bros? Simply said, Blender Bros. is a platform game with some mini-games throughout the different levels. An F-Zero like racing game is used when the Zooligans have planted a bomb somewhere in a level. You can also play these minigames versus computer without reaching the proper levels.
The levels are quite small (avg time/level: 1.5 minute), and Infogrames wasn?t very generous supplying levels. This makes the game quite fast to play through.
Graphically, Blender Bros. doesn?t score to bad, but it?s not something to launch a parade for.
Overall, Blender Bros. was a nice try, but Infogrames should have spend some more time on this title.
