Britney Spears, the Teen Queen of Pop... It was only a matter of time until this ´not a girl, not yet a woman´ would get her own game. She (and her game) have been broken by several critics, but what´s really the deal here?
In Britney´s Dance Beat, your task is to become one of Britney´s Backup dancers. How to do this? By showing her your sence of rythm of course! Just like in "Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen´s Girl Night Out", you dance by pressing the right button at the right time. Where in MKAOGNO the symbols fell from the sky, in Britney´s game, it´s a bit more difficult, since they used a clocklike-approach.
In the bottom-left, you can see a small circle. In this circle, symbols appear (up to 12 at the same time!). This approach seems a bit easier than MKAOGNO´s because you can see a whole bunch of upcoming symbols, but on the other hand, you´ll have way less time to press the right button.
Britney´s Dance Beats offers you 5 of her most popular songs (see the second screenshot). These songs may sometimes sound a bit strange, since the GBA doesn´t seem capable to reproduce every tone as it should have. THQ (the developer) has therefor inserted some of Britney´s voice-samples, so the songs can be easier recognized.
About the gameplay. The first 5 levels are quite easy. Just 2 different buttons are used. Then, you´ll unlock the Concert-Mode. The same 5 songs are being used, but you´ll have to be pretty good to win these as well.
The game would have been quite a one-liner, since all you´d have to do was pressing buttons. Fortunately, THQ has added several extra´s. Ie you can win photo´s of Britney by achieving high rates of succes, play a puzzle game and for those who "Master Britney´s Steps", there is some exclusive video-footage...
