Review

Once again, Tetris seems an inspiration for other developers. This time, a timeless battle was born from this inspiration. Fortress is it´s name, and it´s here to stay!

In Fortress, players will have to build a stronghold using the original tetris-blocks. If you mange to create a block of 6, the block will be fortified. Of course this building is fun, but there´s more to come...

While playing, you´ll encounter the squared block. This one´s special: inside there´s a cannon or a door! When a canno is placed, it´ll keep firing at your opponent´s castle. Each direct hit will gain you points (and with this: your victory). A door will supply your fortress with a repairman (one with a very funny accent). These are about the basics of Fortress.

Fortress has (unlike any other Tetris game) 4 different environments: Prehistoric, Medieval, Pirates and Space. Each of these has it´s own characters, weapons, building style and sound. For example: during Pirates you´ll use cannon and build ´crow-nests´, while in space you´ll use pulse-lasers and build a stardock. Nothing special, but it´s nice to switch once a while.

The sound is really great. While playing, you´ll hear the repairmen scream, hear a parrot (Pirates) or a dinosaur (Prehistoric), while the very cool music goes on.

Fortress also has a 2-player mode. The same concept as in the normal modes (Single game, Tournament or Blitz), without any additions.

Overal opinion: Buy this game if you like to play tetris and action games!
